we've come a long way babyAssisted living has become the preferred lifestyle for many seniors who desire independence, but may also need a little extra help with their daily living. The internet is an ever-present part of life for many Americans, seniors included. In fact, recent research from the Pew Internet and American Life Project finds that for the first time ever, half of U.S. adults over the age of 65 use the internet.

The Courtyards Senior Living really is a Different Kind of Assisted Living. Johnson City Knoxville Oak Ridge The Courtyards Senior Living has helped bring our family great peace of mind. They made the transition to assisted living easier for both our Mother and our entire family. They are always there to provide assistance not only with the activities of daily living our Mother needs help with, but to answer questions and offer support for our family as well.
The facility is absolutely beautiful having just opened this past summer. The room is spacious enough to accommodate many pieces of personal furniture which helps make the room feel more like home. The staff are all friendly, courteous, helpful and highly trained to do their jobs. The meals and snacks are nutritious and very well planned. Daily activities in the facility and occasional outings are provided for those who wish to participate. We can’t say enough good things about The Courtyards. Having to choose an Assisted Living facility is a hard decision for families and The Courtyards made that decision so much easier for us. the courtyards senior living was proud to be a table and punch sponsor at the snowflake ball for the senior companion program. The purpose of the Senior Companion Program is to help senior adults. It provides part-time paid volunteer community service opportunities for low-income people age 55 and older. These volunteers in turn provide support services to older persons who have unmet physical, mental, or social needs.
Senior Companions serve the homebound elderly who need daily attention and assistance with small tasks such as preparing meals, visiting the doctor, or shopping. They provide friendship and support and enable those they serve to maintain their independence and improve the quality of their later years. The Senior Companion Program has been administered by the Knoxville-Knox County Office on Aging since 1988. Funding comes from the Corporation for National and Community Service, as well as from Knoxville and Knox County. Community donations and sponsorships make it possible to serve additional homebound seniors in our community and are deductible to the extent allowed by the IRS. click HERE to see all of the Courtyards Senior Living photos from the event! "To My Children" ~ An Anonymous Poem
When I spill some food on my nice clean dress Or maybe forget to tie my shoe, Please be patient and perhaps reminisce About the many hours I spent with you. When I taught you how to eat with care, Plus tying laces and your numbers, too, Dressing yourself and combing your hair, Those were precious hours spent with you. So when I forget what I was about to say, Just give me a minute - or maybe two. It probably wasn't important anyway, And I would much rather listen just to you. If I tell the story one more time, And you know the ending through and through, Please remember your first nursery rhyme When I rehearsed it a hundred times with you. When my legs are tired and it's hard to stand Or walk the steady pace that I would like to do, Please take me carefully by my hand, And guide me now as I once did for you. |
